Being originally from the east coast I somehow never took on a Southern accent, even though it completely lives in me. So growing up I never felt like I belonged in the South, or anywhere in particular, really, and was always searching for where that might be. I am sure that figures in my attraction to acting and especially the characters I most like to play. They always have a strong regional identity - I absolutely love doing dialects. Hide

So there are the mechanics of working on a set, doing publicity, preparing for an audition, and I do all of those but at the same time I ask myself if it's really me, and if it's not I look harder. Because there's no point trying to figure out what other people want. That is an impossible task. And it's boring. Hide
